Nikwax Direct Wash-In Waterproof Clothing Treatment 100ML

The Nikwax TX.Direct Wash In® is a highly effective liquid for waterproofing jackets and pants with membranes. It is extremely easy to use, suitable for both automatic washing machines and manual application. This product is recommended for various types of membranes, including GORE-TEX®. It is safe for ultra-thin membrane structures, ensuring that pores remain unblocked while allowing moisture to escape freely through the membrane and the outer fabric, even when saturated with rain or snow.

How to Waterproof Membrane Jackets / GORE-TEX® Jackets with TX Direct Wash In in a Washing Machine?

1. For best results, wash the clothing in a separate cycle before waterproofing. You can use Nikwax Tech Wash. There is no need to dry the clothing between steps.
2. Shake the pouch thoroughly.
3. Zip up all zippers and pockets of the jacket/pants, as well as Velcro and snaps. Empty the pockets.
4. Check the label (care tag) for recommendations. It is likely that washing at 30 or 40 degrees is advised. Nikwax recommends the lower range - 30 degrees.
5. Remove any detergent residue from the washing machine dispenser.
6. Place the clothing in the washing machine and pour the appropriate amount of liquid (100 ml for each item) into the dispenser. Ensure the drum is not overloaded. Limit to a maximum of 2 items at a time.
7. Pour the liquid into the fabric softener compartment. Do not add any other "softener" or fabric softening liquid!
8. Select a short washing cycle with a low temperature (as recommended by the manufacturer) and limit the spin cycle to avoid creasing.
9. Hang the clothing freely to air dry. If the product label permits, you can tumble dry on a low heat setting.

How to Manually Waterproof Membrane Jackets / GORE-TEX® Jackets with TX Direct Wash In?

1. For best results, wash the clothing in a separate cycle before waterproofing. You can use Nikwax Tech Wash. There is no need to dry the clothing between steps.
2. Shake the pouch thoroughly.
3. Zip up all zippers and pockets of the jacket/pants, as well as Velcro and snaps. Empty the pockets.
4. Put on rubber gloves.
5. Fill a large bowl or the bottom of a bathtub with warm water. The manufacturer recommends about 6 liters of water.
6. Pour 50 ml of Nikwax TX Direct Wash In liquid for each item of clothing. The treatment should be well distributed in the water.
7. Let the clothing soak for 5 minutes and stir the water again.
8. Then rinse the jacket/pants in cold water - even up to three times (until the water runs clear).
9. Hang freely in the air to dry. If the product label permits, you can tumble dry on a low heat setting.
