Why do breathable properties depend on hydrophobicity?
Waterproof breathable clothing will most likely blend and moist in the middle when it is used in places where moisture prevails. If the outer layer absorbs water, clothing can lose up to 70% of its breathable properties. Therefore, to ensure convenience, it is necessary to maintain permanent hydrophobicity (impregnation DWR). Nikwax Tech Wash will revive DWR, and thus - breathable properties of your clothing.
Waterproof clothing should be breathable.
When we work hard, we sweat. Steaming sweat cools us, thanks to which we feel good. But when it rains, we want to avoid wetting, which is why we put waterproof clothing that will protect us.
The waterproof fabric must allow the steam to get through it, that is, that it "breathes", otherwise our sweat will not be able to evaporate. As a result, we will overheat and we will be wet with condensation. In addition, if the outer fabric of our clothing absorbs water and gets wet, its breathing ability will be reduced, so you will feel sticky and wet.
Nikwax Tech Wash will enliven permanent hydrophobicity (DWR impregnation), preventing water absorption, maintaining breathable properties and ensuring dryness and comfort.
Waterproof, breathable clothing is for active people, a lot of outdoors.
Everyone who is active in the fresh air, where moisture prevails, will use wearing breathable, waterproof clothing. It doesn't matter if you are a mountaineer or take dogs, a farmer or surveyor working in the open air - you will need good raincoat.
Use the Nikwax Tech Wash agent when your waterproof clothing and equipment soak with water.
Waterproof clothing and equipment can absorb water because the hydrophobic (DWR) was weakened by dirt, or because they were cleaned with conventional detergents. Dirt attracts water, and home detergents leave a water -attracting (hydrophilic) sediment, which makes the fabric to be used when used in places where moisture is used.
If waterproof clothing or equipment is relatively new or have recently been protected by NKWAX impregnation, then cleaning with Nikwax Tech Wash will not only remove impurities, such as dirt or remains of home detergents, but will also refresh the DWR coating (impregnation).
Remember to use the right products to clean.
Conventional cleaning agents leave water -attracting water (hydrophilic), masking permanent hydrophobicity (DWR), which means that the materials absorb water and get wet when used in places where moisture prevails. Therefore, they should be avoided when cleaning waterproof clothing and equipment. Products that are used, at the same time for cleaning and impregnation, are not very effective cleaning agents and can close dirt under the impregnate layer.
Use Nikwax Tech Wash for thorough and safe cleaning of waterproof clothing and equipment, for refreshing the DWR coating (impregnation) and breathable properties.
You don't have to impregnate clothing and equipment again after each cleaning.
Regular cleaning will increase your clothes. With regular cleaning, it will be possible to clean it 5-6 times with Nikwax Tech Wash before you need to be reimpretation. If the Nikwax Tech Wash himself does not renew the durable hydrophobicity (DWR) clothes (e.g. water does not pearls on the surface of the fabric), it is time to impregnate them again, using the appropriate impregnant agent.
Nikwax TX.direct is recommended for impregnating clothing with a membrane; for impregnation of Nikwax tent & amp; Gear Solar Proof; For impregnation of cotton clothing, polyester with cotton properties, tarpaulin use Nikwax Cotton Proof.
